It’s never Chip Kelly’s fault. Always remember that.
According to this tweet, which was confirmed by Mike Garafolo himself, Kelly wanted to draft Dak Prescott in the 2016 draft, but his general manager wouldn’t allow it.
The 49ers drafted four times before the Dallas Cowboys took Prescott. They took three defensive players and one offensive player [a guard]. The 49ers really make the Eagles’ front office look like a close-knit group.

But can you just imagine if Kelly drafted Prescott? We wouldn’t have to deal with the whole Prescott vs. Wentz narrative in their rookie seasons and the Cowboys would’ve had to start Mark Sanchez in the regular season until Tony Romo’s back was healthy. DAMN IT.
