The release saves the Eagles $3.2 million in cap space.
The 31-year-old McKelvin was brought in on a two-year deal last offseason, but disappointed in his debut season with the Birds, posting 43 tackles and two interceptions. He was ranked as the 71st best cornerback in 2016, according to Pro Football Focus.
McKelvin might’ve been know more for his postgame comments than his play on the field.

This will be the first cut of many. Connor Barwin might be next.
