Do I really need to run through the names again?
Danny Watkins, Marcus Smith, Nelson Agholor … you get the point.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ recent NFL Draft history hasn’t been pretty, but the addition of Joe Douglas might be what turns the fortunes around. Jeffrey Lurie praised him during one of his rare press conferences on Tuesday.
Here were a couple key notes from the presser, via the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Zach Berman.
Lurie says hiring Joe Douglas was the "pivotal moment" last offseason.

A key in putting Roseman back in power was hiring a personnel exec. That's where Joe Douglas came in. Lurie getting a lot of praise for Joe

Lurie was also effusive in his praise of Howie Roseman. Noted how deep running football operations is. Different than personnel.

The draft is where the Eagles are going to have to build, and they’re going to have to hit on several in a row to fill some of the key holes on the roster. But having a franchise quarterback shrinks the gap. Lurie credited Howie Roseman for trading up last year to get Wentz and touted him. The Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski tweeted some observations, saying the Birds had 80 pages of notes.
Lurie said Eagles had 80 pages of notes on Carson Wentz during draft process.

Lurie on Wentz:
1) Physical talent
2) Leadership
3) Intelligence & obsession to be good.
4) Impressive w/ teammates. Humble & hard working.— Jimmy Kempski (@JimmyKempski) March 29, 2017
Now let’s hope Douglas and Roseman right the ship and build the team around Wentz.
