Report: The Saints Turned Down a 1st-Round Pick from the Titans for Brandin Cooks

The Brandin Cooks rumors are still out in full force and his asking price is steep.

After the New Orleans Saints reportedly turned down the New England Patriots’ 32nd overall pick for Cooks, they’ve now said no to the Tennessee Titans and their 18th selection, according to John J. Hendrix of canalstreetchronicles.com.

It would appear that the Saints are very intent on getting as much return as possible for the fourth-year receiver, and that echoes the sentiments of general manager Mickey Loomis and head coach Sean Payton.

Trade rumors have endlessly flown around involving Cooks, but it appears no suitors have hit the sweet spot. It’s worth noting that many free agent wide receivers on the market are apparently getting lucrative deals thrown their way. Cooks is clearly in the conversation to receive over $10 million annually when his time comes.

I’d be more than willing to send the Saints and 2nd-rounder along with a player like Mychal Kendricks, but a first in this loaded draft?

I’ll pass.
