It’s voluntary, is this really a big deal?
And some let Fletcher Cox have it for not being at the first day of the Philadelphia Eagles’ OTAs on Tuesday. Jason Peters and Donnie Jones were also absent.
So Fletcher Cox inks that big deal last year, has a "meh" season, then schedules a vacation during OTAs? I'm not okay with that

Fletcher Cox is Albert Haynesworth

"Unless there is a personal issue in Fletcher Cox’s world, absolutely freakin’ unacceptable."@JoeDeCamara ? on Fletcher Cox skipping OTAs.

While I can understand where the venom is coming from, it will be forgotten by next week. As long as he’s not missing the practices that are mandatory, I don’t see this as a big issue. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson did admit that he would’ve liked to have Cox at practice during his press conference Tuesday morning.
It’s a voluntary program. I would love for everybody to be here. That’s just me, personally. I would love everybody to be here. I know it’s not always going to work out that way. But, you know, Fletcher’s one of the leaders on the football team. Guys like that, you do expect to be here. I get the rules. We abide by the rules. He’s one of the guys, too, that at the end of the day, I’m going to hang my hat on and go to war with.
And speaking of next week, Cox will be back from his vacation and step onto the practice field, according to Tim McManus.
Fletcher Cox, missing from OTAs, wanted to spend the week with his family. Is expected back next week, per source.
