Henderson averaged 8.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game off the bench for the Portland Trail Blazers last season after being acquired during an offseason trade with the Charlotte Hornets. The 12th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft has career averages of 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest.
Henderson is a solid wing defender with above-average athleticism, but limited offensively. He doesn’t have a lot of range on his shot, but is solid in the pull-up game and likes the short corners. He’s also a solid finisher at the rim and could be a fit transition when Ben Simmons snatches defensive rebounds and quickly goes the other way.
His father Gerald Henderson Sr. played two years in Philadelphia during the 1987-88 and 1988-89 campaigns.
