I joined Thursday’s The Daily Ticket with Sean Brace on Fox Sports The Gambler to take a couple big swings at Saturday’s stacked UFC card. We start off with the main event featuring Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight championship. Ferguson is riding a winning streak dating back to 2012, and it’s typically a smart play to ride the hot hand. However, I think the previous cancellation and quick turnaround time could make Gaethje a live dog Saturday night. Find out what exactly I will be looking for Friday before making my play on the main event. My best bet of the night is on the undercard, and I also found a profitable angle to attack if you expect Cowboy and Showtime to go the distance.
The NFL content never stops as we discussed the anticipation of the NFL releasing their schedule Thursday night and what it means for NFL bettors. Why does the schedule matter in May? Overall, it doesn’t. However, I explain what information can provide value to us now and why it’s important when evaluating NFL futures. First, we look at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ and Atlanta Falcons’ win totals – two teams with coaches heading in opposite directions. Then, we tackle the top two teams in the NFC East.
