We’re still not through celebrating what probably will be the best moment of Philadelphia sports in the calendar year of 2015. CSN Philly posted a post-game locker room celebration video and WIP put together a montage of Cole Hamels’ career. This is something that usually happens with players who retire.
Not Hamels. Everyone is assuming he’ll be traded this week. If he’s not, this is all going to look really awkward. And I wouldn’t put it past Ruben Amaro to stand pat, shove it a little to the Phillies fans who don’t know baseball, and think Hamels will be the cornerstone of the team in 2018 when they might contend again.
I think I just got myself angry over that. So here:
