This Week in Cocktails: Philly Wine Week Continues

Philly Wine Week will continue through Sunday, April 7th. Various participating locations will be shelling out the best in glorious wines from the area and around the world. There will be wine pairing events, tasting challenges, wine week happy hours, cooking classes,  and more.

Jet Wine Bar, Philadelphia’s “global vineyard”, will also be continuing its themed events and parties every day through Sunday. Check the list below to find a great event that will be a fun way to close out your nights all week long.

Thursday, April 4: Local Flavor: Foraged Foods and Local Wines | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Friday, April 5: Bubbles and Bites Cocktail Party | 4 p.m. to close
Saturday, April 6: Wine Tasting: Napa & Sonoma | 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Spotlight of the Week: Fearless Friday and The Bourse

This Friday night The Bourse will be hosting “Fearless Femmes”.  This celebration is in collaboration with First Fridays in Old City. From 5 to 9 p.m., three local artists –Marisa Velazques-Rivas, Paul Ballard, and Camille Ferruzzi -will be exhibiting their work in the center food hall, boasting themes of female strength and empowerment.

Lalo, the Filipino comfort food hotspot, will be serving up a bevy of delicious dishes and beverage specials. Come get $1 off their über-popular Bas-Ka-Bob Sandwiches; Tokwa’t Kaliplor ($5), boasting tofu and cauliflower, pickled chili, red onion, scallion, soy vinaigrette; Salabatchhh cocktails ($5) served with rum, ginger, honey, citrus, soda; San Miguel beer ($5); and Calamansi Juice ($2).

Philly Influencer Hosts NCAA Championship Game Viewing Party at Fishtown Hops

This Monday night, come down to SugarHouse Casino and take in all the March Madness hysteria! The brand new sportsbook is open for business and will be bursting will excitement all night long. Philly Influencer will be taking over Fishtown Hops with an ultimate NCAA championship viewing party. There will be great specials like $0.50 wings, $1 hot dogs, $5 nachos, $5 chicken cheesesteaks, $3 Miller Lite, and more throughout the party. You can catch the game on any of the 20 TVs in the massive venue. There will be games, a Pop-A-Shot tournament, prizes, and plenty of other things in store for this wild night.

Philly Celebrates Jazz Parties: Philly Celebrates Jazz aligns with Jazz Appreciation Month across the country. Over the next few days, there will be amazing ways to hear some great music and sip on some libations. The Manayunk Jazz Festival will continue through Thursday, April 4th. Southern-inspired eatery SOUTH will feature performances by award-winning jazz vocalist Champian Fulton this Friday and Saturday. Come to Chris’ Jazz Cafe this Saturday to hear pianist James Santangelo.

Havanna Nights: Come to World Cafe Live this Friday night for Havana Nights. There will be Cuban music, food, and more. The cocktails will be flowing and there will be a live Cuban band to help you salsa the night away.

BeyonceXRihannaXNicki Dance Party: This Friday night come out to The Foundry for BeyonceXRihannaXNicki Dance Party. Starting at 10 p.m., this pop holy trinity-themed party will have a packed dance floor and a killer DJ playing all the bops from the hitmakers.

Jalen Mills Birthday Weekend: Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills will be hosting two parties this weekend in celebration of his 25th year on earth. This Friday you can catch #31 at Ardiente. This Sunday, the Green Goblin will be at Vesper NoLIBS hosting a day party from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

DMX It’s Dark and Hell is Hot Afterparty: DMZ isn’t headed home after his concert on Saturday night. The rapper will be hosting an afterparty at NOTO Philadelphia starting at 10 p.m. DMZ and several others will be in the building for a night of popping bottled, dancing, and partying with the hip-hop legend.

Bank and Bourbon Bourbon Bash 

Where: Bank & Bourbon, 1200 Market St.
When:  Monday, April 15th, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

April 15th will be  Bank & Bourbon’s 5th annual Bourbon Bash. Supporting Donor’s Choose, this event supports the local community in a major way. There will be specials and a celebratory barrel-shaped cake made by Executive Pastry Chef Amanda Kaewvichien that will be aged to perfection. Executive Chef Thomas Harkins will be preparing some of his signature dishes including Beef Tartare, a Charcuterie and Cheese station, a Raw Crudo Station and multiple action stations of salmon, porchetta, cowboy steaks, and pork chops.
