Danny Briere is looking to get a position within the Flyers organization, according to CSN Philly’s Tim Panaccio.
Kimmo Timonen visited Skate Zone Tuesday and plans to spend this year with his family. Hextall said Danny Briere, on the other hand, has approached Flyers president Paul Holmgren and the two are discussing a position.
Briere, whose kids remained in the area after the Flyers bought him out in 2013, probably will stay in the area regardless if he didn’t take a job with the team. But, this makes sense, and Briere is one of the most beloved Flyers of the past few decades, so it seems like a lock that he’ll get a position with the team in some capacity.
Timonen being at practice yesterday was a nice surprise, and I’m sure he’ll have a position within the organization if and when he decides to get back into working-man mode.
