Kiko Alonso, according to Howard Eskin, has an ACL sprain that could keep him out of action for two to four weeks. This is a far cry from a torn ACL, which would have ended Alonso’s season.
As I said Sunday afternoon, I was told that Alonso’s ACL was feared torn again while he was in the locker room during the Cowboys game, and people were already saying he was done for the year, which I reported. This current development has me not upset for being told information that could wind up being contrary, but excited for Alonso to return to the field this season.
As for Mychal Kendricks, his hamstring injury isn’t serious and he hopes to play this weekend.
Eskin’s been on the money lately with injury news, so I’m inclined to believe his report, if only because it doesn’t mark the end of Alonso’s season. Of course, no official announcement has been made regarding his condition, so everything is up in the air at this point until the Eagles officially make a statement.
UPDATE: Confirmed by Mike Ortiz Jr. Les Bowen also reports the same.
UPDATE II: Alonso suffered a partially torn ACL, according to Ian Rapoport.
