The NFL Trade Deadline earlier this week brought a lot of different hot takes on what the Eagles should do, varying from trading for Anquan Boldin or Golden Tate, to trading Vinny Curry, to even trading Chip Kelly to the Titans since they just fired their coach and MARCUS MARIATO is there. Makes sense, right? Trade Chip, who has all the power in the world running the Eagles – which he only just got this season – and completely ruin everything that he’s tried to do and you’ve tried to do as an owner [because, you see, Jeffrey Lurie is the only one that would be able to make this happen].
The somewhat becoming polarizing figure in Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com decided to have some fun – at least I hope that’s what it was – and put a poll out there to see if the fans would be on board with Kelly being traded to the Titans. According to this poll, 57% of fans were. And when you lead with this headline, it’s really saying more than what it actually is.
The sample size this poll has is 1,323 votes and counting for a couple more hours. Do you really, honestly, truly think this is indicative to what the majority of Eagles fans think? I find that incredibly hard to believe, but, hey, clicks clicks clicks.
And since, you know, this is a football town, I think a sample size of 1,300 is kind of sort of not enough to really push that narrative that “Eagles fans are open to trading Chip Kelly.” Then again, I’ve seen dumber things in my lifetime. Writing an entire article about a stupid poll? That’s up there.
