We posted the video of Johnny Manziel boozing it up after rehab earlier this week, rendering him to being the Browns’ third string QB. One could speculate that the demotion stemmed from that video, but now not only do we have confirmation of this, we also have learned that Manziel lied about it.
The official demotion, per FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, came because Manziel lied to the Cleveland Browns by stating that it was an old video and because he tried to get his friends to lie and cover up for him.
Johnny Manziel lied to the @Browns and that is why he is not starting -per @JayGlazerhttps://t.co/qHvtmeRNAo

How stupid can one be? For all of the people that support Manziel and complain that he doesn’t get a chance to start, this is a prime example of why his NFL career will be a short one.
Earlier in the year, Manziel had spend 10 weeks in rehab, but sources close to him believed he relapsed recently. During the Cleveland Browns recent bye-week, Manziel told the team that he would just “lay low” during that time. With the recent booze video coming to light, the Browns felt betrayed because clearly Manziel didn’t “lay low” and because he recruited his friends to backup his lie that the video was old. This story seems like it will end with the Browns releasing Manziel in the offseason.
