NFL Declines to Discipline Johnny Manziel in Domestic Incident

Wait for it…

On Tuesday, the NFL declined to discipline Johnny Manziel in regards to the domestic abuse charges that were brought against him by his girlfriend Colleen Crowley. In the “alleged” incident that happened inside a car a little more than a month ago, a police report obtained by TMZ shows that Crowley claimed that Manziel hit her a “couple” of times. Below is a 911 call from the incident.

The NFL determined that there was insufficient evidence to take any disciplinary action against Manziel. One would think that with all eyes on them in the wake of the Ray Rice and Greg Hardy incidents that they would conduct a thorough investigation and provide all of the details from that investigation to justify their decision. But, this is the NFL that we’re talking about. What did we get from the NFL in way of a response? We got this.

“Our investigation included a thorough review of information from law enforcement and our own interviews with multiple individuals, including the two involved in the incident. Based on the information gathered, we have concluded that there is an insufficient basis on which to take disciplinary action.”

That was the statement from the NFL. Investigation is over. Nothing to see here.

Thanks, NFL! At least they didn’t victim shame, right?
