Chip Kelly was fired today, and it seemed like he just wasn’t willing to give up any personnel power, according to reports. But, it’s interesting in the timeline that he was fired, because he never got a chance to address the players.

Derrick Gunn on Comcast SportsNet said that Eagles players have texted him saying things like, “It’s about time,” certainly lending credence to the notion Chip had no clue how to interact with his players off, or really on, the field. So, it’s probably a good thing that he was fired after the team was gone.
Or, it’s just a complete shitshow over at the NovaCare complex. Maybe Chip’ll return tomorrow for a final farewell. Maybe. Maybe not. Probably not.
Jay Glazer said Chip wants to remain in the NFL.
Just talked to Chip Kelly, disappointed how it ended but knows it’s a results-oriented biz. Insists he wants to remain in the NFL, not college. Was pulled into mtg w owner, said he didn’t fight the decision.
