Chip Kelly has now come out and said that he will see through his commitment as head coach of the Eagles. It’s been a crazy year for Chipper and the Eagles. The year has mainly seen it’s share of lows- until Sunday of course. The Eagles had the type of win against the Patriots that could get the ball rolling on a major win streak.
The Eagles still have plenty of holes that they have to fill up. But Sunday’s game could be the point in the season where we look back on and say that it catapulted this team to success. Chip Kelly spoke with Peter King of TheMMQB.com and had the following to say.
“I don’t have to convince people I’m staying,” Kelly told King. “I can’t. Everyone says, ‘He’s a college guy.’ It’s going to take a while for people to look at the ticker across the bottom of the screen without my name on it for people to understand.”
Kelly would continue:
“I made a commitment to this organization when they hired me, and I will see it through.”
So it looks like Chip is here until either Jeff Lurie fires him or until his contract runs out because Kelly at this point would look horrible if he bolted for another job now.
