…as long as the Eagles have him, that is. Honestly, who’s surprised at the amount of coverage Chip Kelly has been getting recently? Not me. Every day, something new regarding Chip and Jahlil Okafor comes out, and with our sports teams being so bad right now, this is what makes the news now. Might as well get used to it, amirite!?
The latest on Chip comes from The Inquirer‘s Jeff McLane, who says as long as the Eagles have Chip Kelly, he’s not going anywhere.

That’s certainly noteworthy. It’s entirely possible that the reports of the players tuning Chip out and completely turning on him could be a result of the ongoing college rumors that just never seem to die. But, the past couple days could go a long way in fixing this team, and that’s without making any big player or personnel moves.
Yesterday, Chip shot down the rumors that he’s spoken to USC, or any college for that matter. He said he’s focused on making this Eagles team better, and we have to take him at his word at this point. I said it yesterday and I’ll say it today – I often tune out things that I deem coachspeak, and Chip’s been notorious for saying nothing in so many words the last few years. So while I don’t necessarily 100 percent believe him, I don’t think he’s lying.
Sure, there’s still that report floating around about the Titans still being in on Chip at the end of the season, but if Jeffrey Lurie is the same guy today that he was when he decided to bring Andy Reid back in 2012, Chip has nothing to worry about. Unless, you know, Lurie wants a new general manager. Then…
