Fletcher Cox was named to his first Pro Bowl on Tuesday night, which was well-deserved. In fact, he deserved to head to the Pro Bowl last year, but was snubbed. He’s been the Eagles’ best defensive player this season, and he knows it.
Cox has been pretty much one of the very few highlights of this Eagles season. So, when he was asked about the Pro Bowl on Wednesday, Cox went from talking about how making the Pro Bowl was one of his goals to guaranteeing a win against the Redskins on Saturday.
Yeah, it was one of my goals (to make the Pro Bowl),” Cox said, “but I think the biggest relief will be when we win on Saturday.”
When?
“Yeah, I’m guaranteeing a win,” Cox said. “What am I supposed to say? That I think we’re going to lose or something? No.”
So, if you’re keeping track, here are the storylines we have so far heading into Saturday night:
DeSean Jackson says the Eagles releasing him was a slap in the face.
Jackson wishes good luck to the defensive backs covering him on Saturday.
The Redskins needed Mychal Kendricks for some bulletin board material. I’m sure they’re using Cox’s quotes now, too.
