For the second season in a row, Connor Barwin has been named the Eagles’ Man of the Year. The NFL announced the 32 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominees last week. Each team gets their own representative and the three finalists will be announced in January 2016. The players are nominated for the work that they do serving their communities.
The actual winner will be announced during the NFL Honors awards show. It will air the night before the Super Bowl. Fans have a chance to help their guy win a $20,000 donation to his charity of choice from Nationwide. Each team provides their nominee with a unique hashtag that should be used. The player whose hashtag generates the most mentions will win the aforementioned money for their charity of choice.
Connor Barwin’s unique hashtag is: #BARWINWPMOYCHALLENGE
Roger Goodell had the following to say.
“Serving their communities and philanthropic causes is a strong and long-standing tradition of NFL players. These outstanding young men embrace and represent that important commitment of giving back to our communities. We salute and thank our players for their leadership.”
Barwin’s Make The World Better Foundation helps provide Philadelphia children with a safe and clean place to play.
