Dmitry Orlov showed the Colorado Avalanche a cool magic trick on Saturday night.
After the Washington Capitals defenseman pulled off a deft fake and fired a shot in the third period, the entire Avs defense—as well as goalie Calvin Pickard—was convinced the puck was frozen. They were looking for the puck like it was one of their contact lenses.
And then, bang. Orlov emerged from behind the net after retrieving the puck and fired again, this time finding the back of the net. Washington would eventually win 7-3.
