Last night, the Sixers were defeated by the Clippers, 130-99, but the story wasn’t about Jahlil Okafor scoring 23 points and four rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench. Rather, it was about Okafor’s dad, who was sitting courtside behind the Sixers bench, and apparently spewing quite a bit of venom towards the Sixers’ coach, Brett Brown.
Good work, Jah. Earn that rookie money by controlling your relatives in the crowd. Is Jah finally maturing before our very eyes?
That wasn’t all Okafor’s father did, though.
It looks like Okafor’s dad, who became my new favorite Philly celebrity back in the summer, has lost a lot of those good feelings he once had about his son being a Sixer. Well, if he ever really had those good feeling about his son being a Sixer, because a lot of people in Okafor’s camp never did.
He really wanted Michael Weber to cover Sam Hinkie’s face on his T-shirt? That’s rich. Too rich. Amazingly rich. And pretty much cements the fact that holy crap did Hinkie need some help in the front office because he had no idea the strain he was putting on his players, the fans and almost everybody else associated with the NBA.
Looks like not even the players are trusting the process at this point. Eskin would go on to Tweet that “the feeling was mutual” as he wishes the Sixers didn’t have shirts with Okafor on them. Don’t get Mr. Okafor mad, I guess.
Ouch. Where was Mr. Okafor in Boston? Or Philly? Is he really starting a blog? When can we quote it?
I definitely don’t think it was right for the NBA to step in on hinkie Josh Harris with Colangelo the nba is becoming a totalitarian league like all professional sports teams are and them just trading 2 2nd round picks for nonsense especially when hinkie has proven that he can turn them into first round lottery picks the NBA is a sad association
