Early yesterday morning, NJ Advance Media’s Mark Eckel speculated on what players Doug Pederson and his new coaching staff will get rid of as they take the reigns of the team. Eckel posted a list of Eagles who he thinks have already played their last game with the team, and one stood out the most among all of them, basically due to the low-brow description Eckel gives it.
Eckel says Josh Huff is currently unhappy in Philly and his agent is going to let the organization know if he hasn’t already. That’s pretty much it. So, why would Huff be unhappy? For one, he’s reportedly always been close with Chip Kelly dating back to his college days at Oregon, so when Jeffrey Lurie fired him, it could have spelled the end of Huff in Philadelphia. In fact, Huff was one of very few who had Chip’s back when a lot of the players anonymously and with a name to their face decided to trash him when he was fired.
Huff has underperformed every year as a fourth receiver, which is kind of hard to do. He’s shown flashes of brilliance, but he mars those flashes with dumb decisions and stupid mistakes that ultimately make the bad outweigh the good.
The Eagles’ strength definitely isn’t their receiving corps, so losing Huff could possibly make that corps even worse, even though Huff isn’t exactly a game changer or even a role player at this point. After Eckel’s list surfaced online, Huff probably had a few people question if he was really unhappy in Philly. He decided to address the rumor on Instagram and go the PC route and not say anything bad about the Eagles to confirm he is, in fact, unhappy.

Bro yal CAN NOT believe everything yal read. I’m VERY excited to be apart of something special in Philadelphia with the new coaching staff. God Bless.”
As for Eckel’s list, Sam Bradford, Darren Sproles, Mark Sanchez, Matt Tobin, Cedric Thornton [due to the likely switch back to a 4-3 scheme], DeMeco Ryans, Walter Thurmond (no!), Marcus Smith and Taylor Hart all are players he doesn’t expect to return to the Eagles. If you even care.
