According to a report from WCVB-TV, Foxborough police arrested a man that had weapons inside of his car, outside of Gillette Stadium, which was holding the NHL’s Winter Classic at the time. During the search of the his car, a stun gun and several sharp edged weapons were taken by the Police, including a sword.
Though the police found these weapons inside the car, Police stated that there was no threat to the stadium or event. Police arrested 48-year-old Matthew Bromson, of Connecticut.

Per Sports Illustrated, Bromson “has a history with police in the area.” In 2014 he “engaged in a nine-hour standoff with police in 2014 after they tried to serve him with an outstanding warrant at his home in Connecticut.”
Bromson faces charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of an electric stun gun and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
