Eagles running back Ryan Mathews recently had surgery on his groin, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Caplan. In addition to dealing with the groin injury, Mathews suffered a concussion in Week 10’s loss to Miami, after which he missed three games.
With the surgery already taking place, Mathews should be ready to go when offseason workouts begin. Mathews’ career has been plagued with injury.

Mathews had six touchdowns this year and totaled 539 yards on 106 carries. The the Eagles will most likely go through some drastic changes in the offseason, however Mathews should be back with the team. It’ll be interesting to see what head coach the Birds bring in. If used properly, Mathews and DeMarco Murray should be able to do some damage this year.
