Connor Barwin is perhaps the most beloved Eagles player in the city right now. Steve Spagnuolo is a former head coach in the NFL, and currently [and formerly] the defensive coordinator with the New York Football Giants. He’s also been a coach with the Eagles behind Jim Johnson.
So, what do these guys have in common? Well…
We’ve received a tip that the two were at Founding Fathers on South Street – together – having a few drinks and talking. Anthony Gargano was also there, who is good friends with Spagnuolo.
Certainly, Spagnuolo could still have ties to the area. It’s possible that since the Giants’ season is already over, he’s just relaxing and kicking back a few with a current Eagle. But, there’s no certainty he’ll be back with the Giants next season, either.
Spagnuolo has already interviewed for the head coaching gig with the Giants, after Tom Coughlin resigned earlier this week. Coughlin has been linked to the Eagles, with rumors now surfacing that he might even try to bring Ben McAdoo into the fold here. Could he lure Spagnuolo back to his old stompin’ grounds? Is seemingly the entire staff of coaches from the Giants going to relocate south to Philly?
We shall see…
Did you see these guys at Founding Fathers? Send us a pic or email us.
All this after Barwin helped recycle Christmas trees… on South Street. What a guy.
