What do you get when you’re the owner of a team that is responsible for moving the team to another city? You get animal shit sent to you by a pissed off fan. I’m serious. A NFL spokesman said on Thursday that the team officially became the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday after the league owners approved the relocation to Southern California.
Rams’ Owner Stan Kroenke first announced his plan for a multibillion-dollar stadium in Inglewood, CA more than a year ago. On Tuesday night, he discussed his final pitch to league owners.
Here’s what Kroenke had to say via the LA Times.
“If we didn’t have the perspective of 40 years of doing this, I don’t think any reasonable, rational person would ever do this. But because we look at it a certain way, we’ve been through so many of these projects, and we’re long-term investors. That’s why we did what we did and stuck our neck out that far.”
He really sounds like a guy you can be sympathetic for, huh? While this move to Los Angeles is great for their douche bag owner, you have to feel awful or the fans in St. Louis.
One fan took a shot at getting revenge on Kroenke. Pissed off that her favorite team left St. Louis for Los Angeles, Kelly Manno sent Stan Kroenke a $250 pile of animal shit as the Huffington Post reported. Now that’s classic!
During her podcast, Manno placed the order (30 pounds!) with I Poop You, a “professional” poop delivery service. Manno asked if she could get a mix of cow, horse, pig, chicken and goat shit.
You can’t make this stuff up. While I’m sure this stunt gave Manno a sense of satisfaction for a small period of time, the sting of losing a football franchise will no doubt sting for a long time to come. There’s no word yet on Kroenke’s reaction to the special gift.
