FiveThirtyEight.com published an interactive map that breaks down which presidential candidate has the most Facebook likes in each state. The results indicate that Ben Carson will be our next President…sort of.
“The Facebook Primary”, as it was called, is not meant to predict but rather present how social media ties in with each candidate. According to the Pew Research Center, only 58 percent of American adults use Facebook. The results of “The Facebook Primary” are skewed by many factors. “Likes” do not necessarily equate to votes. For example, Facebook users may like Donald Trump’s page but that doesn’t mean they support him…and that goes for all of the candidates. Facebook users could also like multiple pages.
The map is fun to play around on, but in the end, it has almost no validity. So if you a run into anyone trying to use it as a reliable source, it’s not worth an argument.
The only way Ben Carson is getting inside the White House, is if he’s the new butler, aka Benson.
