Today, the NHL announced three games that were postponed due to the blizzard last weekend will be made up
NHL Game No. 716 between the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders at Barclays Center – originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 – has been moved to Sunday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Should the Flyers be in playoff contention at this point, this game could mean the world. The world. Via the Flyers’ press release:
The new date will extend the NHL’s and the Flyers’ regular season by one day. The Flyers were originally scheduled to conclude their season at home vs. Pittsburgh on April 9. The rescheduled game will give the Flyers four games over the final five nights of the season, all against Eastern Conference opponents.
In addition to the Flyers and Islanders, the extra day to the season will also include Anaheim visiting Washington in another rescheduled game from the same storm.
Also, the Flyers-Penguins game on Sunday, April 3rd, from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh has been moved from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. That sucks, because that’s WrestleMania day for me. And that’ll probably be the most exciting Flyers game of the season. Woe. Is. Me.
