Papelbon, how we love your insane brain and thought process! Since you’re no longer a Phillies player, we now get to sit back and enjoy your antics for what they are. Hilarious, and distracting to your team.
On Friday, Papelbon apologized to everyone including his teammates and Nats fans, for his infamous fight with Harper last season. “I was in the wrong,” said Papelbon. He then offered to spend “all day” talking until the last question was answered but then vowed he would retire the subject for the year.
Well, if we all know Pap the way we think we do, it’s only a matter of time before he does something else to gain all the attention for all the wrong reasons.
Pap was spotted walking off the the Nats’ complex in a cut-off T-shirt with arrows pointing to his biceps that read, “Obama Can’t Ban These Guns.” Apparently, he wanted to wear that shirt to the “apology press conference,” but he was talked out of it.
Regardless of you political stance, I think we can all agree that this would be a bad idea and a PR nightmare for his team.
I for one can’t wait to see the historically bad and hilarious outcome of having him on a rival team for an entire season. So, while we all try to ignore the mess the Phillies put out on the field this year, we can tune in to see the next stunt Pap tries to pull in Washington. I know I can’t wait!
*NEVER FORGET*
