Penn State raised $9.7 million over the weekend at its annual THON, a 46-hour dance marathon that involves more than 700 dancers from the student body. The proceeds benefit pediatric cancer patients and their families.
Widely regarded as the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, the event kicked off late Friday inside the Bryce Jordan Center and ran until Sunday afternoon.
Among the special guests were Nittany Lions’ former football star Devon Still and his daughter, Leah, a Stage IV neuroblastoma cancer survivor who was initially given a 50-50 chance to live by doctors but went on to finish her last cancer treatment a month ago. Leah delivered a special message to fire up the BJC crowd.

What a wonderful way to raise money for a charity.
