One of the the most intriguing storylines that still needs to play out for the Philadelphia Eagles is the question of who will be their starting quarterback next season. While NFL teams think that Sam Bradford will re-sign with the Eagles, I’m not so sure. Whether he re-signs with the Birds or not, their number one priority should be drafting a quarterback for the future and I’m not the only one that thinks so.
NFL media draft expert, and local guy Mike Mayock, among many others thinks that drafting a quarterback should be the Eagles’ prime focus as well. In the pre-NFL Scouting Combine conference call on Tuesday, Mayock mentioned the Eagles should make drafting a quarterback their numero uno priority this April.
Mayock ranks Carson Wentz, Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch as his top three quarterbacks, respectively, in his 2016 draft class position-by-position rankings. The Eagles have the 13th in the draft and could have a legit shot at getting one of them should they choose to do so.
While I would love that to happen, I do think that the Birds go offensive line with their first pick and perhaps circle back to a QB with one of their next picks. In any event, they need to plan for the future now.
In some other QB news that could involve the Eagles, Ian Rapoport lists the Birds as a potential landing spot for RG3. That’s one hundred percent something that I don’t want to see happen.
Discussed some potential landing spots for RGIII in the wake of Bruce Allen's comments: #Chiefs, #Eagles, #49ers if no Kaep. #Broncos, DAL

This isn’t the first time that Rapoport has stated this, as back in December he said the same thing. This now however comes after Washington’s president Bruce Allen came out and stated that RG3 will get an “opportunity with another team.” Let’s just hope that it’s not with the Eagles.
