The Flyers recently acquired Jordan Weal from the Los Angeles Kings. Unfortunately, Weal is already set to miss some action. Weal will be out “a minimum of three weeks” with an upper-body injury. Flyers’ general manager Ron Hextall announced the news before the game against the Devils on Tuesday. It’s a tough break for both Weal and the Flyers.
Weal might have to have a procedure done to fix the issue, however more will be known sometime on Wednesday. Here’s what Hextall had to say about Weal and his injury on Tuesday courtesy of CSNPhilly.com.
“He’s been working hard and patiently waiting his chance. But what are you going to do? That’s life, right? It’s not easy. He’s the type of kid that will battle through and work hard and get himself back. And show what he can do when he gets back. He might be a little bit sooner than that, but he’s going to see the doc in the near future. Right now it looks like he’s ahead of schedule.”
The former third-round pick has only registered two shots on goal and a plus one rating since being acquired by Philadelphia on January 6th.
