Ever since Jerry Colangelo was brought into the Sixers organization the role of Sam Hinkie has come into question. Hinkie even mentioned at one point that he was the leader of this Sixers team. The wait is finally over though. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports has clarified who exactly is the man in charge of the team is.
While reporting on the promotion of Brandon Williams to the newly created position of chief of staff, Wojo dropped this gem.
“Sixers chairman Jerry Colangelo has to sign off on organizational moves involving basketball operations.”
Boom! Sorry, Sam. It’s only a matter of time before Hinkie is out of here.
Back to Williams, he’ll have oversight on matters that include player development, agent relations and recruiting. The Sixers have been a much better team since Colangelo came on board. Things are looking up Sixers fans.
