We’ve highlighted how Tim Tebow has been winning off the field lately, but when it comes to on the field, all has been silent from him since he was released by the Eagles last year. Per a new report, Tebow could be ready get back on the field.
According to Tebow’s college coach Urban Meyer, he’s had some conversations with him recently and Meyer said that Tebow would consider a return to football in the CFL. Meyer’s response all came about when Mike Mayock of The NFL Network told Meyer that Tebow needs more experience, which the CFL provides. Here’s what Meyer had to say courtesy of ProFootballTalk.
“I think that’s a great point and I was actually in a conversation with him about going to Canada. The situation — his family and I were involved in it — we just didn’t think it was the right one. I think if there’s a right one I think he’d probably do it. He does have somewhat of an awkward throwing motion at times. I really thought the Chip Kelly experience would be his opportunity — I really hope he gets his foot in the door.”
I have nothing personal against Tim Tebow but, if he hasn’t grasped the correct throwing motion that will make for a successful NFL quarterback by now, I’m not sure he’ll ever grasp it. Would Tebow be fun to watch in the CFL? Sure, I guess. But at this point the man has so many positives going for him off the field, it might be time for him to give this whole pro quarterback dream up.
