We often complain about the refs in the NHL not liking the Flyers mostly based off of their past. We’ve seen bad calls, suspensions, etc. That happens to every team, but today feels like one of those days where the refs just want to screw us.
So, Wayne Simmonds just got a match penalty for this:

It was exactly the right call…straight from the rulebook…..not saying McDonagh was right for cross checking him or that it wasn’t as bad…
46.15Match Penalty – Any player wearing tape or any other material on his
hands (below the wrist) who cuts or injures an opponent during an
altercation will receive a match penalty in addition to any other
penalties imposed including for fighting under this rule.

Really??!!! What game were you watching? The typical Flyers fan game where the flyers can do whatever they want and bully every one? Simmonds was mad because of a LEGAL hit by Kreider so he did a blatant late hit on McDonagh who brought his stick up to protect himself and which time Simmonds LOWERED HIS HEAD and got a high crosscheck. Then, being the baby that he is who can’t take a hit, he sucker punches McDonagh. Wayne Simmonds is nothing but a thug who can’t play hockey so has no recourse but to fight other players. He has no place in NHL hockey and should have been banned a long time ago. Get over yourself.
Well let’s just say that in my experience, you’re not taugh to, in order avoid getting hit, place your stick in the crosschecking position, then aim it at the opponents head and forcibly bend his neck at 90 degrees, then when the maneuver has been performed, no longer protect yourself and do whatever it takes to make it look like you’ve never taken a week-hand punch before. Make sure you stay down.
I love how he says, “McDouchebag put his hands up to protect himself.” Really? Cause that was a textbook crosscheck up at someone’s head. Didn’t Wideman just get suspended 20 games for a cheap shot to a refs head? I’m not surprised at this though. When you think of Ranger$ hockey you think of a team that has won ONE Cup in the past 75 years, BUYING that Cup AND dirty hockey.
Flyers haven’t won the cup in 41 years and have only won it twice. Every other team in the league knows that the flyers are nothing but bullies because they can’t play hockey. Simmonds is one of the DIRTIEST players in the league. Flyers fans are pissed off because their team is horrible. Deal with it.
