Would you buy John Lennon’s hair? Well, someone did. The Beatles frontman’s hair that was up for auction had initially been cut by a German barber just before Lennon filmed How I Won The War. Heritage Auction in Dallas, Texas said the four inch lock of hair was purchased by Paul Fraser, a United Kingdom-based memorabilia collector, for $35,000. According to Heritage Auction, this is “the largest lock of Lennon’s hair ever sold at auction.”

Lennon’s hair was one of several Beatles-related items featured at the auction, including a photograph of the band signed by all four members and a sealed copy of the band’s “Butcher” cover for “Yesterday and Today” album. The photograph signed by all four members was only $7,500 more than Lennon’s locks.
Other than to say you have Lennon’s hair and maybe look at it a few times, $35,000 is quite an expensive price tag. It certainly is a conversation starter to say the least.
