Local High School Football Coach Resigns Due to Hazing Scandal

We previously told you that charges had been filed against three Conestoga High School football players that were involved in a hazing scandal that has rocked the area. Well, the next shoe has dropped. Conestoga’s football coach is now resigning after the players were charged with assaulting a freshman with a broom handle. The district attorney says the incident happened on what the team called “No-Gay Thursday.”

The school district announced on Thursday head coach John Vogan’s resignation from head coaching duties. In addition, it was announced that both the varsity and junior varsity staff have also been relieved of all coaching responsibilities in all sports through the fall season. I’m not sure that’s enough.

Like I previously stated, I find it hard to believe that only the players knew of these incidents. High school football is everything for many towns across America. More people know of these incidents that were taking place, so don’t be fooled by anyone who comes out and states that they didn’t know what was taking happening here.
