Mario Williams was cut by the Buffalo Bills today after not meshing with Rex Ryan or his defensive scheme this past season. Do the Eagles have lots of 4-3 defensive end talent currently? Yes. Would teams be terrified thinking of a defense featuring Fletcher Cox, Vinny Curry, Brandon Graham, and Mario Williams? You bet your sweet ass they would be.
Williams will command good money, but in a passing world, you can never have too much pass rush talent on a roster in the NFL. I would be thrilled if the Eagles made a run at him, and let’s not forget that he has played and had success under Jim Schwartz and his attacking defensive style.
