Ron Hextall announced yesterday during a post-trade deadline press conference that Jake Voracek will be out approximately two weeks with a left foot injury. Voracek has 48 points on the season with 10 goals and 38 assists.

The good news is that surgery will not be needed, according to Hextall. He believes the Flyers can get by without the services of their star player for the time being. Voracek should be back in time for the real stretch run of trying to get into playoff position the last month of the season. If the team plays like it did last night against Calgary – or, more importantly, if Brayden Schenn plays like he did last night – the loss of Voracek hopefully won’t spell doom for the team.
