In a city starved for some success, people are starting to lose their minds at even the slightest show of success. It’s fun to watch, but it is also a constant reminder of what we’ve been going through as fans for the last few years.
Last night, when Brayden Schenn scored his third goal of the game against the Calgary Flames, fans were ready to litter the ice with their hats. This is a time-honored tradition in hockey, and one the Flyers honor with a display in the arena with a trophy case demonstration.
Well, I think they need a new display for this one. Why, you ask? Well, because fans were so excited they started throwing shoes. Yes… shoes!
This leads me to wonder what savage spent an entire period walking through the stadium shoeless, not to mention walking through the glass-riddled parking lot. And Lord, please, not the subway! All because they had to celebrate throwing their Nikes on the ice.
Well, for anyone that missed it, here is all the mayhem. Please, hold on to your shoes.

It was a career night for Schenn, and a fun one for fans. Lord help us if we make the playoffs. It is guaranteed to be a delightful mix of excitement and rage.
