Nerlens Noel might just have bailed Sam Hinkie out of the Sixers spotlight. Well, for now at least. TMZ Sports is reporting that Nerlens Noel is being sued for “destroying the home he was renting last year with Gatorade stains, drugs and toilet damage,” among other things. TMZ has obtained the lawsuit, and the owners list the damage that they found after Noel had moved out in August of last year.
The laundry list of damages includes the following: a broken elevator, $4,000 in damage to the stove, damage to the refrigerator, damage to the dishwasher, torn window screens, $30,000 in carpet damage, extreme water damage throughout the home and clogged toilets filled with cotton balls and feces, among other things.
The owners also apparently found joints in the home and pieces of weed in the master bathroom drawers. But that’s not all. The owners reportedly demanded $42,000 to repair the damage, but the day after they sent the demand, “a tombstone with the words “RIP” mysteriously appeared on the front steps of the property. The owners believe it was Noel’s doing and are considering it a death threat.” On top of all of this, Noel is now being sued by them for assault because the owners feel that they will be harmed.
That’s a lot to take in. My thoughts are that Noel partied it up big time with a bunch of people in the home, probably tore the house up and people smoked some weed in the house. But, now the owners see an opportunity for a big pay day, so they’re cranking the lawsuit up a notch with the extra stuff. I mean, they’re suing for an assault that hasn’t even taken place. That’s ridiculous. This won’t be the last that you hear of this story.
Noel addressed the allegations after the Sixers’ game on Friday night.
