It was not the ending that we were all hoping for. On a night where the Flyers came home to Philly for Game 3 of a first-round playoff series against the Capitals, and when the organization was showing love for their late chairman, Ed Snider, this is not the ending that was envisioned by anyone. Nevermind the fact that the Capitals destroyed the Flyers, 6-1, but the storyline when the game was over was all about the fans. And not in a good way, either. Thanks to quite a few jackasses in the stands, all of the good fans now have to suffer through hearing about what a disgrace Philly fans are.
Before the game fans were given Ed Snider T-shirts and light-up memorial bracelets. Honestly, they were awesome when used correctly during the light show that occurred twice during the game. However, those bracelets were just another object some fans used to throw on the ice to show their displeasure for their own team. Ed Snider’s team.
Pregame should be crazy. There are bracelets on every seat that will light up based on location. pic.twitter.com/Tb8Dwr1cw5

Late in the game, the fans lost all inhibitions. It was so bad that Flyers’ public address announcer Lou Nolan had to admonish the fans, as it eventually led to a Flyers penalty.
Now Lou Nolan is downright pissed. STOP THROWING BRACELETS!!!! pic.twitter.com/zkxrnNgdPM

Here’s some more courtesy of CBS Philly.
One even hit the Capitals’ Dmitry Orlov in the head on the bench.
To top it off, here’s a moment of silence before the game, where one assclown showed his lack of class.
So this was the moment of silence @NHLFlyers that was ruined tonight. It was a bad night all around pic.twitter.com/XLO0Vq4ofV

This has nothing to do with the wussification of America either, so for you guys that think these moments were no big deal, spare me with that bullshit. Grow the hell up! I know that the majority of our fans kick ass and know better, but moments like these from a few dicks really screw it up for the rest of us.
Even the players were embarrassed for us.
Except Ryan White, who said after the game he would’ve thrown his bracelet on the ice, too. Let’s also not forget the fact that when Brooks Orpik got destroyed by White, the fans booed Orpik as he was being helped off the ice. Not a good look.
[Editor’s note: I heard Angelo Cataldi on the WIP Morning Show this morning say that he understands the fans’ frustrations being the reason they threw those bracelets on the ice last night and that you have to listen to each fan he talks to every day to understand it. That’s great and all, but it’s also complete bullshit. Just because fans are frustrated – which, sure, they had every right to be – gives them no reason whatsoever to do what they did last night. I was frustrated. I didn’t throw shit around my house. When I’m frustrated, it doesn’t give me the right to do anything stupid. And if I do something stupid, I’m absolutely fair game for people to criticize. Stop defending this.]
