Rich Eisen knows what he’s saying and knows what ramifications can come of it. Today, he took a shot at Philly fans while talking about the Browns simply because of the fan who booed Wentz yesterday when he wouldn’t couldn’t sign autographs. And Mike Mayock wasn’t thrilled about it.
Rich Eisen: The Eagles introduced Carson Wentz yesterday and as Wentz was being shuttled through the Philadelphia Airport, he was being taken, I guess, too fast for him to stop to get some autographs to some fans, who booed him. So he got his first boo before leaving the Philadelphia Airport.
Mike Mayock: You know, Rich, come on, that’s a gratuitous shot at Philly fans. It’s totally gratuitous.
Eisen: No, it’s not. No, it’s not. It’s called stating facts.
Mayock: Nah.
…
[After a draft pick]
Eisen: All right, it was a gratuitous shot.
Mayock: It was.
Eisen: It was. One fan. One. Is that better?
Mayock: Well, I mean, at the end of the day, you know, I’m gonna go back to Philly and hear about how Rich Eisen’s killing people and I’m going to have defend you like usual.
Eisen: I love Philly fans. I do. And I say that with no hint of irony at all. I truly do.

Thanks, Mike. I think Eisen only loves Philly fans because he gets off on how we react to things sometimes. I should also add that Mayock is from Philly and gets us. So to see him stick up for Philly fans when many national media guys from this area don’t is a welcome sight.
