Allen Iverson was officially named to the Basketball Hall of Fame earlier in the week. On Friday night, the Sixers honored Iverson, who was in the building, with this video:
Besides Brian Dawkins with the Eagles, there is no other player in Philadelphia sports over the last 20 years, in my opinion, that defines this city as well as Iverson does. Every time I see highlights or see him get honored, I get chills. I yearn for the days that this city will see another player like him.
After watching part of the Villanova parade live yesterday, it hit me again. Philadelphia deserves great things, including great sports teams. One day, we will get the ultimate parade down Broad Street and it will be the best feeling in the world.
Iverson had some words for the media after the game.
