Watch Jonathan Papelbon Blow Another Save against the Phillies

The Phillies salvaged the third game of the series against the Washington Nationals on Sunday by tying and winning the game in extra innings, 3-2. The best part? Jonathan Papelbon blew another save against his former team.

Here are your TV and radio calls:

How’s Papelbon taking another blown save against the Phillies? In stride.

“We’re in first place and we won the (bleeping) series, man,” he said. “You know?”

“They’re just another team for me,” Papelbon said after Sunday’s game. “I’m going out there trying to do the same (stuff) I am against any other team. It makes no difference to me.”

“I didn’t make pitches,” Papelbon said. “The ball off end of the bat by Bourjos – all of a sudden I got a man on second. Then I don’t execute a pitch to Blanco; I hang a curveball. I should have thrown the curveball in the dirt and he swings and misses.

“That’s the life of a closer. At the tail end I just didn’t execute pitches. That’s really all it boiled down to.”

“All of them [blown saves] suck,” he said. “You’re job is to preserve the win. When you don’t do that you have to turn the page, move on and go to Miami and win another series.

“I’ve blown plenty of these in the past. I know how to handle them and I’ll move on and come to work tomorrow ready to get another save. That’s pretty much how it works.”

Tonight, the Flyers try to beat another Washington team.

Take that, Washington.
