Howie Roseman was recently on The SiriusXM Blitz on SiriusXM NFL Radio with Bruce Murray and Phil Savage. He talked about Carson Wentz and Sam Bradford. Imagine that. Here are some highlights:
On Carson Wentz:
Our scout went in there, and really had a book on him at this time last year, got excited about him and then Tom Donahoe did him and he couldn’t have been more excited about him as a player. Put a Top 10 grade on him right away. I watched him in the fall, and you could see all the traits.
Now, you guys know this, until you see a quarterback throw live, you think, but you don’t know. So coming down to the Senior Bowl and watching the ball come out of his hand and seeing his presence on the field and being eye level with him, and then interviewing him down there for the first time meeting him face-to-face, we knew he was for real. Right away.
Strong pro-Wentz game here. Not so much for Bradford. When the hosts moved the discussion to the disgruntled Eagles’ quarterback, Roseman didn’t dance around any of the questions.
On Bradford wanting out of Philly:
This will be my 17th season in the National Football League. Unfortunately, nothing surprises me at this point. We’ve gone through a lot of stuff here in Philadelphia, so you’re always preparing for it. And, as Phil knows, when you’re in this spot, something always comes out every day that you didn’t know about the day before. So, you just gotta be flexible, you gotta be willing to adjust and understand there are fire drills all the time. That’s why these jobs are so challening.g
So, in terms of anticipating [Bradford’s] reaction, you can never tell people how to feel. So, I don’t know that we anticipated it. We knew, obviously that he feels very strong about his abilities. He’s a pro, he’s a competitor. Sometimes the competitiveness comes out in other ways, but a lot of these problems that you talk about in March, in April, in May, they dissipate by the time the season starts.
On if he’ll listen to offers for Bradford:
Well, shoot, I tell our PR guy I’ll listen to offers on him, anything that can help. To sit here and say no, if someone offers us something great for anything, we gotta do that. We have an obligation to our fans, to our ownership to do what’s right.
On if Roseman will seek a trade for Bradford:
No. There’s no need for us to do that. He’s our starting quarterback. We’re looking to be competitive this year. We put a lot of resource at the quarterback position because we believe strongly if you don’t have answers at that position, you’re just chasing your tail. So, we have short-term and long-term options that we feel great about and that was our priority going into this offseason.

Roseman and Pederson say Bradford’s not getting traded
Would love to see Sam walk — hold the line on an organization that clearly lied to him. Take half the money– play backup for another team — but not another down for the lying Eagles. Easy to see why Chip didn’t work out with thus cesspool of an organization.
