The NBA draft lottery takes place on Tuesday, May 17th, and we’ll hopefully be talking about the Sixers having the first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft in June. Until it’s official, however, we just have to wait and see. Someone who also will be waiting and seeing is LSU’s Ben Simmons, the likely first overall pick in the draft, who decided not to attend the NBA Draft combine in Chicago next week.
It’s no surprise that Simmons, a candidate to go first overall in June’s draft, will not participate. In recent years, many top draft prospects declined the combine invitations.
Not all of the players, who attend, agree to do on-court basketball drills. However, they will undergo medical testing and measurements and interview with the NBA teams.
The second overall selection likely to go in the draft, Duke’s Brandon Ingram, along with Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield are set to attend.
Here’s the full list of athletes who will attend.
