Earlier, we posted about Jordan Matthews talking about the Eagles drafting Carson Wentz. CSN Philly’s John Clark also asked Matthews about Sam Bradford and if he’s talked to him since he made his trade demand. Matthews says he, and some of his teammates, have talked to him.
Jordan Matthews: Yeah, yeah. A couple of us have been able to. But at the same time, we have to understand, Sam’s Sam. The way everybody else deal with certain things may not be the same way he does. Sam’s a very private person. He’s gonna do things on his time. Certain people do certain things on other people’s time. It’s just the way it is. You gotta just understand that he’s not you and he’s gonna figure out what he wants to do. None of us can pull his arm, make him do something on his time, and do whatever he wants to do. And you gotta just respect that.
At the end of the day, we know we want him here. So, you just continue to reach out and then whenever that time comes, we can get it rolling.
John Clark: You’ve talked to him. Do you think he will eventually report and be the quarterback?
Matthews: At the end of the day, like I said, what I think really doesn’t matter. I don’t like to put anything out there in the media or anything that might possibly be construed, ‘Oh, this definitely’s gonna happen, or this won’t happen,’ so, I don’t like to really make guarantees, you know, but at the same time, like I said, we all want him here so we’ll see what happens.
There you have it. Bradford will talk to his friends but not his bosses. Not unlike real-life employees. There’s no doubt in my mind that Bradford was doing this, but to hear Matthew say it publicly probably doesn’t make Howie Roseman or Doug Pederson happy.
But hey, it’s May, right Howie?
It also doesn’t surprise me that Matthews said he wants Bradford back. He, Bradford and Zach Ertz are the Eagles’ version of the Three Musketeers. Video below.
