As if a $100-plus million contract wasn’t enough pressure.
Fletcher Cox spoke with NFL Network over the weekend, discussing what the expectations of him should be while playing out his deal.
“I expect myself to be a double-digit guy from here on out,” he said.
Listen to the interview here.
Cox is excited the new deal got done before training camp so he can “focus on football.” He’s also pumped about working with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and commented on what he saw from him during his three days of mandatory camp two weeks ago.
“I could really feel the energy and really feel what he could do with his defense,” he said.
Cox set career highs with 9 1/2 sacks, 71 tackles and 11 tackles for loss last season. We might be seeing all new career highs again in 2016.
