In a time where many generations’ heroes are being taken away from us, another sports legend passed away on Friday. Gordie Howe, 88, has died.

Howe still holds the NHL record for most games (1,767) and seasons (26). He scored 801 career goals, second to Wayne Gretzky (894). Howe suffered two strokes in 2014, but his health improved after undergoing a stem-cell treatment in Mexico.
Gordie’s son, Mark, played for the Flyers from 1982-1992.
